Through our shared life, we have learnt that “slow together is better than fast alone”, and that given a supportive environment people with intellectual disabilities have much to offer and contribute to the world.

We were founded in the year 2008 in response to the need of adults with intellectual disabilities to be fully integrated into the society and live a meaningful life.

We currently have 2 homes, Effatha and Bethania, with 6 adult core members each.  We also have a day programme with 21 core members engaged in occupational therapy workshops.

Our outreach program supports nearly 1000 people, including children and youth with varying disabilities, and adults with intellectual disabilities.  The program emphasizes community-based rehabilitation through health care, education, livelihood support, and general empowerment.

Apart from offering direct support for families with disabled members, we raise awareness about the mission of L’Arche and disability, debunking myths and revealing that each person has gifts to share.
