Lithuania

Foundation date: 2008

‘A model of social care’ was the compliment given by the President of Lithuania when she visited L’Arche in Vilnius several years ago, praising the community’s innovative community model of mutual support. And today, the two communities of L’Arche in Lithuania are at the forefront of the national response to the needs of men and women with an intellectual disability.

The community works to expand housing options for people with intellectual disabilities, they offer training for entering the job market, and skills in self-expression so that disabled people can play their full part in the development of Lithuanian society.
