This year, in partnership with Zero Project, L’Arche Canada, L’Arche UK, and L’Arche International partnered on a groundbreaking video series highlighting this global Disability Inclusion conference at the United Nations in Vienna.

Siân Walker and Nicholas Herd’s Co-Interview Project

Nicholas Herd from L’Arche Canada and Siân Walker from L’Arche UK traveled to Vienna with the team in this inclusive communications and professional development project.   

Together, Nick and Siân met and interviewed Conference Awardees.  Their interviews helped share the stories of changemakers from many countries and helped raise awareness about innovative projects from around the world.   

Mentorship and Professional Development

Nick and Siân’s joint-preparation fueled this co-interview team project.  Their collaboration served as a model for how, together, we can help build new leadership and generational knowledge transfer.  Their work highlights the power of partnerships in supporting inclusive professional development in communications and media, storytelling, and advocacy.

Expert Panel with Nicholas Herd: Building a business case in the media industry for inclusion

Nick was also invited as a member of a panel discussion on inclusion in the media industry. Together, the expert panelists discussed innovative ways to help foster diverse, accessible, and inclusive environments in areas such as national broadcasting, journalism, and media capacity-building.  

What is The Zero Project Conference?

The annual Zero Project Conference has become a unique global meeting place to innovate for disability inclusion.  The conference highlights Awardees from around the world who are creating innovative projects that can be scaled.

This year, more than 1,000 participants from over 90 countries attended the conference at the United Nations Office in Vienna. There were over 120 sessions where key areas for disability inclusion were discussed, as well as specific topics: Employment and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The conference successfully connected many people who gathered to learn and share new ideas that can help change lives and the world we live in.
