Let’s celebrate connections with other communities during the week of the festival!

This year’s theme is Connected in the World, and we invite each community to join the festivities in your own way. You can make a card for another community in the Federation, reach out to a friend living in L’Arche in another country, hold a special reflection time for communities around the world, or explore the videos from L’Arche worldwide on the L’Arche International website. Creativity invited!

Even if you unable to attend the festival live (but we really hope you can!), you can find your own unique way to celebrate and share the joy of connection and relationships across L’Arche!

What you’ll need for the session

A candle or the light on your phone for our opening reflection
Something simple from your community that you can share with others. This could be a photo, art you create, or something special from your community’s culture.

For those of you gathering in large settings with a projected video it may be helpful to have a second device so you can participate in the chat during that gathering. The chat will include some translations and opportunities to share.

What is the L’Arche Light Festival?

The first L’Arche Light Festival was held in 2020 as a way to connect across the Federation during the COVD-19 pandemic, when we could not be together in person. It was an inspiring time of connection and hope, where L’Arche around the world gathered to celebrate our shared identity and mission, and give thanks for our journey together in L’Arche.

Five years later, this virtual gathering continues to be an experience of joy and belonging beyond borders. It is a chance to reflect on our global presence and to celebrate the relationships that connect us and the diversity that enriches our life together in the world.
