We are people with and without intellectual disabilities, sharing life in communities belonging to an International Federation.  Mutual relationships and trust in God are at the heart of our journey together. We celebrate the unique value of every person and recognise our interdependence.

Mission

The mission of L’Arche around the world is to make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities, revealed through mutually transforming relationships; to foster an environment in community that responds to the changing needs of our members, whilst being faithful to our core values; and to engage in our diverse cultures, working together toward a more human society.

About Community

At the core of each community may be a shared residence, social programs, or public engagement initiatives. In all cases, community helps us grow and contribute to our society and our world, and community always welcomes us home. Community goes beyond inclusion, community is where we can truly belong.
