Over 50 years of overcoming stigmatization

Founded by Jean Vanier in 1964, L’Arche seeks to respond to the distress of people with intellectual disabilities who are too often rejected and to give them a valid place in society. The vision and mission of L’Arche has stirred the hearts of people all over the world. L’Arche communities have formed in 37 different countries: in some of the poorest places in the world, in some of the richest places in the world, and in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
