Salary: We offer circa €50K per annum if based in France. If the role is based outside of France, national terms and conditions (including pay and benefits) will apply.
Location: To be agreed.
Working arrangements: Balance of remote and office-based work. Full time remote is possible.
Travel requirements: Approximately 30% international travel is anticipated.
Reporting to: The postholder will report directly to the CEO and, as required, to the safeguarding lead on the International Stewardship Board.

Building on the deep respect for each person, L’Arche International has an exciting opportunity to enhance and support our safeguarding strategy and protocols across the global federation. We are searching for our Head of Safeguarding.
Role Purpose
L’Arche is looking for a strategic and operation leader specializing in policy development, prevention, implementation, reporting and responding. The successful candidate will work with our senior management team to develop and introduce a safeguarding strategy. The role holder will be responsible for establishing effective prevention and response protocols to address the requirements of safeguarding across the Federation, in order to prevent and mitigate safeguarding risks.
Experience and skills
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in safeguarding in an international context or related field
- Proven track record of a participative and representative approach
- Ability to introduce and to lead the process of implementing safeguarding leading to a cultural change
- A proven track record in ensuring that policies and protocols are enacted, embodied, realised and applied / put into practice.
