Solidarity is one of the key words of L'Arche. Bridging the gap between the different regions of the Federation is one of the priorities of L'Arche International. Developing a common understanding of the reality of belonging to an international body is only the first step on the way to a Federation that lives out solidarity as a key value: an international solidarity program will be developed; assistants who would like to live L'Arche in another culture must be supported, needs for human resources should be communicated from one region to another; financial solidarity will be enforced through the creation of fundraising bodies in an increasing number of member countries.

But solidarity is not restricted to L'Arche itself. Solidarity means to network with other international organisations, to contribute to conferences and public forums in order to influence society to bridge the gap between a society that neglects its weakest members and one that invites them to actively participate in public life.
