The Letters of L'Arche give you a snapshot of themes linked to the mission and vision of L'Arche. In them, you can find information on the latest projects of L'Arche International and above all, they tell stories, share news reflections and experiences, coming from the four corners of the Federation. They are published two times a year in English and French.
This year, the UN’s International Day for People with disabilities on December 3rd, focuses on “Together for a better world for all: Including persons with disabilities in development.” This coincides with the 40th anniversary of Letters of L'Arche, which has recorded, almost from the start, how L'Arche has been doing exactly that across the varied societies of our world. For wherever L'Arche springs up, it offers a way for people with and without disability to transform their local environment, promote human values, and reveal the true human dignity of each person, especially those often thought of as the weakest. In the first Letters of L'Arche, Jean Vanier wrote: ‘these Letters of L’Arche aim to help and maintain and strengthen the deep links of our friendships.’ As true today as in January 1971. So, in that spirit, enjoy reading and encourage your friends to take out a subscription!
