L’Arche International is recruiting a Communications Director.

The International Federation of L’Arche Communities (L’Arche International) is the umbrella organization of 135 L’Arche communities in 36 countries that offer people with an intellectual disability a family-style living environment. L’Arche International is recruiting a:

Communications Director
Full-time


Position: Developing and implementing L’Arche International’s internal and external communications strategies. The Communications Director:

- Sees to the coherence of communications activities within the Federation and its bodies
- Initiates and directs projects in response to the Federation’s needs and activities in the field of internal and external communications

Profile: The candidate should have four years of relevant experience in a communications role, a university degree in social sciences, as well as:

- An empathy with people with an intellectual disability and the L’Arche mission and identity
- Interpersonal and organizational skills in a multicultural environment
- A dynamic personality with the ability to multitask and to work on own initiative
- A track record of producing first class results from slender human and financial resources and an ability to work happily in a small team
- Perfect command of written and spoken English and French; Spanish is an advantage
- Excellent drafting and oral communications skills
- Good computer and new media development skills

The salary package will be offered based on level of experience. The position is subject to Belgian employment contract conditions. Frequent travel away from home is required.
